Senior Legal Counsel

Thalia Emiri is a Senior Legal Counsel and Compliance Advisor with extended experience and proven skills in multidisciplinary complex projects, team leadership, negotiations with multiple stakeholders and crisis management. Thalia has a demonstrated track record of significant achievements in both private and public sector in the areas of legal, compliance and corporate governance advisory. Her skills and experience span from Banking Law, Company Law, Competition Law and New Technologies Law to Compliance, Corporate Governance and Regulatory Affairs.


Thalia worked for approximately 15 years in law firms and private companies focusing mainly on company law, competition law and new technologies law. She then served as Director of Special Policies at PM Office (L. Papademos) (11/2011-06/2012) and Senior Legal Advisor to the Minister of Finance (Y. Stournaras) (06/2012-07/2013). She has been the Chief Legal Counsel of the Hellenic Financial Stability Fund (HFSF), directly involved with the three rounds of recapitalizations of the Greek Banking system (07/2013 – 05/2018). She has contributed to the design of the legal and regulatory framework for the first fully digital banking platform in Greece (Praxia Bank, 09/2018-03/2020).

Thalia holds LLB from National and Kapodistrian Univerity of Athens and PhD in European Competition Law from Pantheon-Assas University (Paris II) where she was a scholar of the Greek State Scholarship Foundation.
