Catherine Grum has worked with enterprising families and family offices for over 12 years across multiple disciplines.
At KPMG she leads our Family Office practice. Her role ranges from supporting families who are establishing of a family office for the first time and need help clarifying their objectives and identifying the right model, through to long-established operations managing a range of complex assets and the interests of multiple generations.
Prior to joining KPMG, Catherine established and ran a multi-family office for Salamanca Group and sat on the board of its Geneva, Jersey and Mauritius trust companies.
Before Salamanca Group, Catherine was Head of Wealth Advisory (EMEA) for Barclays Wealth & Investment Management, leading the delivery of wealth structuring, succession planning and relocation solutions to the bank’s family office and UHNW clients.
Whilst Catherine is not acting as a practising solicitor now, her career started at Allen & Overy LLP where she worked from 2003 to 2009 in the firm’s Private Client Department, providing wide-ranging legal and tax advice to UHNWIs, family businesses and family offices.
Catherine is regularly interviewed on Family Office related matters and has received multiple industry awards including STEP Young Practitioner of the Year, Private Asset Management Top 40 under 40 and EPrivateClient’s 50 most influential.
Catherine has an MA (Oxon) in jurisprudence from Worcester College, Oxford and is a Trust and Estates Practitioner (Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners)
