Achilleas Ioakimides has been PPC Director of Sustainability since 2021, when the Sustainability Department had been just established, while in the previous two years he had served as a Special Advisor of PPC on matters of Sustainable Development and ESG. As PPC Director of Sustainability, he is responsible for embedding sustainability and circular economy principles in the Group’s strategy and operations and also for the active participation and the Group’s response to a series of international actions and initiatives that promote sustainability. Among others he is responsible for the disclosure of Non-financial reporting and ESG indicators for PPC and the improvement of the Group’s performance in ESG ratings.
Prior to joining the PPC Group, he has worked in both private and public sector organizations in the fields of political communications, luxury tourism and international relations for fifteen years. He holds a BSc in Business Administration from the University of Piraeus, an MSc in Marketing from Stirling University, and an MSc in Politics & Communication from the London School of Economics (LSE).
He has successfully completed the United Nations System Staff College’s Circular Economy and the 2030 Agenda courses, as well as the Cambridge Judge Business School’s Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategies Executive Program.
He has also completed the six month SDG Ambition accelerator program by UN Global Compact Academy.
He also holds the Executive Diploma «Executive Program in Energy Business” from ALBA.
As a Sector Community member of EFRAG, he has voluntarily contributed to the development of the ESRS Sector Standards for Energy production and Utilities under the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) as well as to the adjustment of the Voluntary Standard for SMEs (VSMEs) to the Greek Market.
He is a member of the B.o.D of the CSR Hellas and the Global Compact Network Greece (GCNG) since Μarch 2024 when he was elected in 2nd and 3rd place respectively by the representatives of their business members. He is also a member of the European Chief Sustainability Officers network (CSO) of CSR Europe, which consists of CSOs from leading European companies.
In recent years Achilleas participates as a speaker in conferences and training workshops in Greece and abroad promoting the Sustainability and ESG Agenda in the business community and all key stakeholders.
